The professional development committee organizes panels and workshops to prepare the graduate students for the life after graduate school, be it for research or teaching jobs, careers in industry or other professions.

February 24, 2020	CV and Website Workshop We discuss CVs and Websites: How to set them up and discuss best practices.
January 22, 2020	Funding Discussion/Panel We talk about funding for the summer and the academic year.
December 4, 2019	Industry Job Panel The panel consists of math graduates (both masters and PhD) who have a job at a company in the Salt Lake area.
September 25, 2019	Website Workshop The goal of this workshop is Explain how to set up a website with the department and have it linked from the directory on the department website. Give some ideas on how to set up a layout. Discuss what information might be useful on the website. Make the website!
September 20, 2019	Resume Workshop by Francine Mahak
August–October, 2019	Job Material Editing Group A group for graduate students to edit each other's materials, such as CV, teaching/research statements, and website.
August 29, 2019	NSF Postdoc Panel organized by Jon Chaika A panel to discuss what the application entails, give some advice and answer any questions.
April 15, 2019	Job Panel with Graduate Students Come talk to graduating students about what they will be doing next year, their experiences navigating the job market, and how they successfully found positions in academia, national labs, or industry. This is an opportunity for current students to ask questions about how/when to prepare for the next phase in their careers and get the perspectives of graduate students who have recently gone through the process.
