Why Statistics ?
Objective: To learn very basic statistics, becoming a better informed citizen (and taxpayer and voter!),
able to read and write basic statements about data.
Scans of the homework problems from the 7th edition is available on Canvas
General advice: Do go over your homework and exams after they are graded.
If you still don't know why an answer is wrong, ask about it.
PLEASE, staple any hard copies you submit.
Write your name on each page and number the pages (e.g. 1/3, 2/3, and 3/3).
Tutoring Center: The math department offers free drop-in tutoring. The tutoring
center is located in room 155 of the T. Benny Rushing Mathematics Center
(adjacent to the LCB and JWB).
Update 1: There will be quiz 0 on Wednesday 01/10, and quiz 1 on Friday 01/12.
Update 2: There will be quiz 2 on Friday 01/19. Quiz 2 will cover only chapter 2.

Update 16: Midterm 1 covers all chapters we have seen so far.They are 1,2,3,4,5,8 and 9.

Update 26: I updated lecture slides for chapter 17 (with answers for multiple choice problems). Suggestion: Go over examples and exercises on the slides number 57-61.

Update 29: There will be quiz 10 on Friday 03/30. Quiz 10 will cover chapter 20.
Update 30: Homework 10 (extended) is due to 04/06.
Update 31: Midterm 2 will cover chapters after midterm 1. They are chapter 12,15,16,17,20,21.
Update 32: Homework 10 is Chapter 21: 18, 19, 27, 28, 34, 35. Homework 11 is Chapter 22: 15, 16, 31, 35(a) and Chapter 25: 23, 25, 34(b), 44. In other words, Homework 10 covers only questions from chapter 21. Homework 11 will cover questions of chapter 22 and chapter 25.
Update 33: There will be quiz 11 on Friday 04/06. Quiz 11 will cover chapter 21.
Update 34:On Friday 04/06, I plan to finish solving problems of chapter 20 and 21 that is left from today. If there is enough time before the quiz, I will solve review problems that I posted on Canvas.
Update 35: Homework 11 (extended) is due to 04/16.
Update 36: The class on April 20th moved to the ST 104. That is next Friday, only for that day. I know this will cause inconvenience for all. We are not offered any choice but moving the classes for that day.
Update 37: Homework 12 (extended) is due to 04/20.
Update 38: The last quiz, quiz 12 will be on Friday 04/20. Quiz 12 will cover chapter 22 and 25.
Update 39: The final exam will be held on Monday, April 30th, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm (same room as class).
Update 41: If you want to submit your final project earlier, you may submit tomorrow (04/23) during the class time. However, deadline for the project is Wednesday 25th April, 4:00 pm.
Update 42: There will be extra office hours on Wednesday 04/25 between 2pm-5pm.
