- Week 10
- Preparation for the last exam: The exa topics are selected from
10.4, 10.5, 11.1, 11.2. Be sure that you work out as many problems as you can
on these topics. The exam is on Wed during the class hours. Use the Monday
office hours to resolve last-minute problems!
- Week 9 (due 7/25)
- Reading: Skip 10.5 [we hope to return to this topic later];
Read 11.1 and 11.2.
- Problems:
Exercise set 11.1: 1, 3, 4.
Exercise set 11.2: 1, 2, 8.
Week 8
- Remember that the exam time has been changed to Tuesday July 16th. It will still
be an in-class examination.
- Prepare for the midterm by studying the material up to but not including Fubini's theorem.
More specifically, you should study all of Chapter 9 and all of Chapter 10, except for Section 10.4
[iterated integrals]. Pay special attention to the lecture notes, as well as the relevant assigned
problems when you prepare.
- No assigned problems due next week. Work on the material that you have studied already.
Week 7 (due 7/10)
- Reminder: The assigned problems are due
the beginning of the lecture on the due date. Assignments
that are turned in othrwise will not be accepted.
- Reading:
Continue reading Chapter 10, Sections 10.3 through 10.4.
- Problems:
Exercise set 10.3: 9.
Exercise set 10.4: 7, 8, 10.
Week 6 (due 7/3)

Wrap up your reading of Chapter 7; begin reading Chapter 8,
Sections 8.1 and 8.2.

Exercise set 8.2 (pp. 201-202): 1, 4, 5 (Hint on #5: "no").
Week 1 (due 5/22)
- Reading:
Prepare for the forthcoming exam #1; the exam will cover all of chapter 7. So
if you haven't started, now is a good time to begin reading chapter 7. The following
problems are assigned homework, but they will also help you prepare for the exam. So
please solve them before the exam time [i.e., before the assigned due date].
