There will be a review session during class on Wednesday, January 29th, and also a review session on the evening of Thursday, January 30th, from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM in LCB 215, next door to our usual classroom. So, please bring your questions! Finally, I'm unfortunately unable to scan and post the first two chapters from the textbook on this website. However, according to your responses very few of you have been unable to acquire the textbook. So, if you've been unable to acquire the textbook, and this is a big problem, please let me know and after class on Monday I can arrange to have one loaned to you by the main office. Have a great weekend!
- January 22nd - Assignment 1 has been graded, and your grades are available on canvas. I'll hand back the assignment in class on Friday, when assignment 2 will be due. Posted below are the solutions to assignment 1. The lecture notes with examples for lecture 9 are posted below. The lecture notes originally contained an error. In the first example it was claimed that the time the skydiver fell after opening her parachute was 340 seconds, when it should be 323 seconds. This has been corrected in the lecture notes below. I'll be having my usual office hour tomorrow in case people would like to come by and ask me questions.
- January 17th - The lecture notes for lecture 11 are posted below, along with the lecture notes with examples for lectures 7 and 8. At the end of class today I think I said I'll see you on Monday. That was incorrect. Monday is a holiday, so I'll see you on Tuesday! Enjoy the long weekend.
- January 16th - The lecture notes for lectures 9 and 10 are now posted below, along with assignment 3. Please remember that assignment 1 is due tomorrow. I've fixed it now, and the assignment 1 pdf file below should now be correct. Assignment 2 is now also posted below, and is due on January 24th. Finally, the T. Benny Rushing Mathematics Center tutoring begins on Monday, January 13th. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this resource. More information is posted at the top of this webpage. See you in class tomorrow!
- January 7th - Today was our first day of class, and we covered lecture 1 from the lecture notes. Please remember that, from now on, you're responsible for printing out the lecture notes. Also, apparently there has been an error with ordering the books from the bookstore, and so there are no 2280 books available at the bookstore. An order has been placed, and the books should be available there soon. For now the lecture notes should be sufficient, but if you need a book you can use one at the tutoring center.
- January 6th - The class website is, obviously, up and running. Posted below you'll find the syllabus, schedule, the lecture notes for the first week of class, and the first assignment. I'll hand out copies of the syllabus, schedule, and first day's lecture notes tomorrow in class. If you want to read ahead, go for it! I'll see you tomorrow.
