We meet MTWF from 8:35-9:25 a.m. (There will be optional problem sessions on Thursdays, and one of them will be at the same time as our class.) On MWF we meet in ST 104. On Tuesdays our class meets in JFB 103. The Thursday 8:35 a.m. problem session is also in this room. Other Thursday problem sessons are 7:30-8:20 a.m. WEB 103, 12:55-1:45 p.m. JTB 130. I have a class immediately after this one, so will not be able to linger at the end. But I will plan to get to class 10 minutes early, to answer quick questions. I will have office hours after my other class, and these will be MTWF 10:45-11:30. If you need to see me and can't attend office hours, please ask for an appointment. My office is LCB 204, and my phone number is 581-7318. 2250 syllabus.pdf contains detailed course information. Class lecture notes are in this directory. My plan is always to have these lecture notes posted the day before class, by 4:00 p.m. If I post them after 8:00 p.m. I will bring enough copies for everyone in class. Otherwise I will just bring a few copies, or as the course progresses, perhaps none at all. These notes contain text, comments, maple output, diagrams, and other information which will be helpful for class. They will save you from having to write material which is better just to look at. There will also be open space, where we will work out various concepts and examples together. It will be up to you to download these notes and bring them to class. Usually most people find this method of going through new material helpful, but of course it is up to you whether or not to adopt my recommendation. The homework page contains assignments (and solutions, after you hand them in). The Maple page contains Maple projects, tutorial, and related information, for section 2250-1. The exam page contains review material, practice exams, actual exams and solutions. |
