Bitstream fonts are most conveniently available from the Bitstream 500 Font CD ROM Disc for Windows.
Bitstream assigns each of their fonts a 4-digit sequence number. Those numbers form the first 4 digits of the 8-character base filename. The CD includes fonts in Adobe Type 1 format ( .afm and .pfb ), and Microsoft Windows 3.1 True Type ( .pfm and .tt ) formats, together with installation software for use in Windows on the IBM PC. Nevertheless, the Type 1 files are directly usable on any system.
