A beginner's guide to inference of population history from genetic data
Genetic data record a wealth of information about the
evolutionary and demographic history of populations, but translating
raw sequence data into useful information is challenging for several
reasons. I'll present some basic techniques for inferring population
history from sequence data, focusing on contemporary Bayesian
genealogical methods. I'll also present some recent research of mine
regarding the peopling of the Americas and the impact of European
colonization. |
